Anson Justi

Anson Justi - Environmental Policy Research

A recipient of bachelor's degrees in economics and applied math and statistics from Macalester College and a master's in environmental policy and management from the University of California, Davis, Anson Justi is a public policy professional with an interest in climate change adaptation, green economic transition, and the US-China relationship. Anson began his career as a public opinion polling researcher in Washington, D.C., and subsequently served as a volunteer researcher at the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary before pursuing his master's degree.

In completing his master's work at UC Davis, Anson researched compost application and urban reforestation for a Nature Conservancy publication, worked on clean transportation issues as a graduate student researcher at its Policy Institute for Energy, Environment, and the Economy, and served as a teaching assistant in the Department of Environmental Science and Policy for a course on methods of environmental policy analysis. He and other students also collaborated with the California State Water Resources Control Board to create educational materials for the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act as part of his capstone project.

Anson is currently a regulatory economist at the Maryland Public Service Commission where he works on electricity pricing, grid decarbonization, and electric vehicle adoption issues. He works toward equitable billing balancing fair consumer pricing with utility cost recovery, community solar policy, and electric vehicle charging and rebate policy.

Originally from Maryland, Anson enjoys hiking, kayaking, and is an avid Baltimore Ravens and Orioles fan outside of his professional pursuits. A former college baseball player, Anson also enjoys coaching pitching lessons.
